THE PROBLEM

Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) faced challenges in efficiently managing and regulating the use of areas designated as National Parks to preserve the country’s heritage, encompassing natural and cultural resources, while ensuring optimum levels of revenue and benefits without impairing park resources. They needed to automate various management systems, including Financial Management, Revenue Management, Ecology Management, Conservation Management, and Fleet Management, to improve responsiveness to stakeholders' needs.

THE SOLUTION

TANAPA adopted Techno Brain’s Integrated Management Information System (IMS), which integrated information and communication technology (ICT) in all its functions. The IMS included modules for General ledger, Cashbook and bank reconciliations, Accounts receivables, Budgeting and budgetary controls, Campsite & Mountain Climbing Booking, Ecology Management, Conservation, and Fleet Management. It was rolled out across 14 National Parks in Tanzania, utilizing Dynamics NAV, Share Point, and SQL Server 2008 technologies.

THE IMPACT

The implementation of Techno Brain’s Integrated Management Information System (IMS) resulted in significant impacts for Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA), including enhanced visibility of all 14 parks from the headquarters, streamlined revenue management, improved budgeting processes, hassle-free procurement, automated accounting, comprehensive ecology and conservation management, and compliance with reporting standards.
