Accurately identifying members is a critical need of government agencies globally. In order to uniquely identify people, the use of fingerprints along with a biometric card is highly recommended. Techno Brain provides a secure and simple solution for membership registration that can be used by government funds organisations, employee associations, citizen services, and insurance services. Member details are collected using electronic forms and a digital camera is used to capture the photograph of the person. Following this, the fingerprints of the person is captured using a live fingerprint scanner. The data is securely uploaded via the internet or intranet. The verification process involves authenticating the identity of the person against the biometric fingerprint data stored in the ID card.
The results show that the information is either ‘matched’, ‘unmatched’, or in some cases ‘uncertain’. For results that are uncertain, the information is verified manually by designated officials. After the manual verification, an official identifies the record as matched/not matched. If the information is not found in the database, then the fingerprints along with the photograph and textual data of the person is added to the database to create a new record. Once the cards are ready for print, they get printed and officials authenticate each member by capturing live fingerprints and matching against the data stored on the card, before issuing the ID card to the member.
